Lisa Johnson

Photographer
BIO:

Lisa Johnson has a vast catalog of hidden photographic gems which she is slowly unleashing on the world. Lisa has captured iconic images of bands as varied as Rancid, Nirvana, The Offspring, Rage Against The Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Rise Against, Bad Religion, The Gaslight Anthem and Descendents. Her images have appeared at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and are on permanent display at the Slidebar Cafe in Fullerton, California. In 2014, Lisa’s exhibition, Decades: Warped Since 1995 - Through The Lens of Lisa Johnson Rock Photographer, showcased photos and artifacts from the rich legacy of the Vans Warped Tour history which she has been documenting for the past two decades, and it was a featured attraction on the summer tour. Her early days with a camera were spent in the OC, since age restrictions kept her out of the clubs in LA. So Lisa is looking forward to be back in HB for Surf City Blitz!

John Gilhooley

Photographer
BIO:

John Gilhooley began his photography journey in the late 1970s shooting skateboard contests. Growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, John’s subject matter has always been a reflection of his lifestyle. Today, he divides his time shooting for editorial and commercial clients. John has photographed over 100 OC Weekly covers, and countless live shows. When not shooting, he spends time surfing, skateboarding and playing guitar in the punk/ska band The Zero Class. John will be showing off some of his finer works in Lisa Johnson’s Goldmine Garage group show at Surf City Blitz.

Rob Wallace

Photographer
BIO:

A dedicated Vegan Straight-Edge Hardcore kid, Rob Wallace was born and raised in Southern California. His love of skateboarding, music and art found Rob thrust into the local music scene, designing t-shirts for one of his favorite bands Death by Stereo. In 2010, he picked up a camera and hasn’t looked back. He cut his chops photographing his favorite bands at Chain Reaction in Anaheim. And recently toured the world with Dillinger Escape Plan as their tour photographer. In 2017, Rob published his first photography book, Break Free: The Photography of Rob Wallace. The first pressing sold out in 3 weeks. Catch Rob inside Lisa Johnson’s Goldmine Garage, where Rob will be exhibiting prints and signing copies the second pressing of his book Break Free.

Madison Stern

Photographer
BIO:

Madison Stern is gaining recognition for her high-energy, high impact, photography. She got her first camera at age 12, and has been photographing at shows across America ever since. In her own right, she’s earned a spot as an official photographer for the Punk Rock Bowling festival (a fest co-founded by her father, punk rock drumming legend Mark Stern of Youth Brigade). Madison has been the subject of a feature in AltPress and her photos are featured in the 20th Anniversary Punk Rock Bowling book. This young talent is one to watch.

Jason Cardwell

Photographer
BIO:

As a kid, Jason would tag along with his sister Jena to see shows at the Hong Kong Cafe in DTLA's Chinatown district. Upon his passing, his family found his extensive catalog of images tucked away in boxes in his closet. A gifted artist, filmmaker and creative force, Jason left his mark on his friends and family. Some of his images of The Germs were seen in the Foo Fighters "Back And Forth" documentary. This will only be the second time Jason's images have been exhibited in public. His image of The Germs at the Hong Kong Cafe shows the true intimate chaos of the early 1980s punk scene, as well as a very young Pat Smear and the iconic young Darby Crash in his prime.

KRK Dominguez

Photographer

KRK Dominguez is a Long Beach native who has been documenting underground music for over 30 years. Heavily influenced by the periodicals of the day: Slash, LA Weekly, Cream, Bomp, NOMAG & fLIPSIDE, Mr. Dominguez picked up the camera early on in High School and never put it down. KRK’s images are a vital part of the legacy of SoCal punk. Rock & Sock will have some of his artwork available for purchase.
